Doctors make mistakes. When doctors make serious mistakes and cause serious harm, they, like everyone else, should be held accountable for their mistakes. Many persons (especially some doctors) want to put the medical practitioner in a class by themselves. Why should they be? Why should some innocent person fail to be compensated by a doctor or their insurance carrier? Should the innocent victim have to bear the cost of that mistake alone? Shouldn’t the doctor who caused the problem be the one that has to pay for that mistake? That is the way the game of life is played – the negligent one must pay their victim. Why should doctors be exempt?

I have many doctors friends who agree with what I have said above. The major complaint comes from their insurance companies who have received payment of the premiums for the insurance coverage and then don’t want to pay the losses. This must stop.

We also must bring to a stop all efforts to exempt doctors by law from being liable for their wrongs. Talk to your legislators and bring the law-makers to their senses. Tell them doctors who have messed up must pay just like the rest of us.

Sincerely,
