I always wanted to be an attorney primarily because of my dad, Carl Waldman. His love of the law, his passion for the practice of law, and his desire to help people inspired me.
I attended public school in Beaumont, and I graduated from Forest Park High School in 1968. I attended the University of Texas, married my husband, Elliot, in 1972 and then graduated from the University of Houston in 1974.
In the early 70’s I invented a device to help disabled people and was awarded a patent in 1975. I also taught school for two years, and then stayed at home after my three children were born. During that time I volunteered for many organizations, and founded “Bucks for Belts”, an organization promoting seat belts on school buses. In 1990 I enrolled in South Texas College of Law, graduated in 1993, and I was licensed to practice law in May of 1994.
My trial work had been in the area of auto collisions and premises liability. For years I was a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Houston Trial Lawyers and the Houston Bar Association. I am now the business managing attorney of the law firm.
I feel very fortunate to be able to practice law with my dad. It has been a wonderful experience both professionally and personally. I respect Tom and my dad, and I believe that we are all dedicated to helping injured people.
